Castle View Tutoring – Terms & Conditions for Students

These Terms & Conditions govern the use of tutoring services provided by Castle View Tutoring, operated by Jacob Morley (sole trader). By purchasing a subscription or using our services, you agree to comply with the following terms.

1. Role of Castle View Tutoring

  • Castle View Tutoring acts as an introducer and booking service, connecting Clients with independent, self-employed tutors.

  • Tutors are not employees of Castle View Tutoring and are responsible for their own teaching methods and delivery.

  • While we aim to support learning progress, Castle View Tutoring does not guarantee specific learning outcomes.

2. Tutoring Services

  • Clients may engage tutors introduced through Castle View Tutoring to provide tuition in agreed subject(s).

  • Details such as lesson length, frequency, and teaching approach are agreed directly between the Client and the Tutor.

3. Fees and Payment

  • All tutoring services must be purchased as a subscription via the Castle View Tutoring online store (powered by Shopify).

  • Subscription fees are payable in advance and charged automatically on the billing cycle chosen by the Client (e.g. weekly, monthly, or termly).

  • Sessions must be used within the billing period. Unused sessions will not roll over unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • If a payment fails, Castle View Tutoring may suspend tutoring services until payment is received.

4. Refunds, Cancellations, and Disputes

  • Subscription payments are non-refundable once the billing cycle has started, except where required by consumer protection law.

  • Clients may cancel their subscription at any time through the Shopify customer portal. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing cycle.

  • Individual session cancellations are subject to the Tutor’s cancellation policy (e.g. 24 hours’ notice). Late cancellations may be counted as used.

  • In exceptional circumstances, Castle View Tutoring may issue credits for missed sessions at its sole discretion.

  • Concerns regarding lesson quality should be raised directly with the Tutor. Castle View Tutoring may assist in dispute resolution but does not guarantee an outcome.

5. Code of Conduct

  • Clients and participating students must behave respectfully during all tutoring sessions.

  • Abusive, threatening, or disruptive behaviour may result in immediate termination of services without refund.

6. Confidentiality and Data Protection

  • Castle View Tutoring will handle Client personal data in accordance with UK data protection laws (including GDPR).

  • All parties agree to respect the privacy and confidentiality of information shared in the course of tutoring.

7. Limitation of Liability

  • Castle View Tutoring is not liable for any loss, damage, or injury arising from tutoring services delivered by Tutors.

  • The Business’s total liability, whether in contract or tort, shall not exceed the total subscription fees paid by the Client in the previous 30 days.

8. Termination

  • Clients may terminate their subscription by cancelling at least 7 days before the next billing date.

  • Castle View Tutoring may suspend or terminate a subscription immediately in cases of non-payment, misconduct, or breach of these Terms.

9. Governing Law

  • These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

  • Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
